I agree w/ Chaz. There was never a statement more true in conjunction with our beloved V4 Saabs than:
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Our little niche is just that: little. There is no real standard by which to measure much of any price comparisons for most everything V4 SAAB related, and there are some contradictions too.
There are places here in the states where there are FIELDS full of VSAABs that people can't give away, and yet there are stroker Sonetts that sell on Fleeebay for over $16 grand recently!!
Depends on your location, how much time off work you can take, where the stuff is located, are you willing to go get it, is there another VSAABer that can go look at it for you, etc. etc.
So your original question: how much? Well, maybe offer the guy $50 or $100? .... what are you willing to pay.
Most of we Vintage SAABers know that, unlike vintage jag's or mg's or porsche's or most of the other high end european marques, if we dump 10s of thousands of dollars on a factory original, numbers matching restoration... with the sole intent of a business transaction to make a profit, then VSAABs are probably not a good business route to take.
However, there those of us who simply LOVE and ADORE and CARE TENDERLY for our beloved VSAABs, and realize that they are parts of our family, to which there is a priceless value, and no amount of money could purchase this family member from us.
Yeah, we're all a little crazy... hee hee hee ;-)
