trailered through Richmond, Va. on I-95 South.
I was in my 9-5 Aero Wagon going to pick up a c900 dash at a Saab junkyard going out of busines when I spotted it up ahead. A trailered yellow "something" about a mile ahead. An early 240Z perhaps?
So I'm thinking, "Huh. Perhaps an Autocross event at the Richmond Speed Park?"
I get closer and nope: Too small to be a Z. THAT is a Sonett!
I get close and notice the pulling Explorer had Maryland plates. Could it be? I pass a bit further, and sure enough. Who do I see?
Tom Cox. What're the odds?
We were south of Chip Lambs place, so it wasn't going there. Was it going to Steve Church's? It was literally a shell. No wheels, axles, etc. It did have flared fenders, so clearly built for racing. Looked good for a work in progress.
Anyhoo. Just thought it was kinda cool, two totally separate Saab things going on serendipitously intersecting on the interstate.
Jim Miller, Wassaab
