I have an '04 Aero and I would definitely agree on how easy it is to scrape the front spoiler... As for ride, I didn't test out an Arc, so I can't comment on the ride diff. The Aero is definitely a bit harsh on the bad Mass. roads, though. The other day I hit a hidden pothole in the rain (hidden because the road was lightly covered in water...) and SWORE I had damaged the rim, only doing about 30 or so, but when I pulled over, it looked OK. I'd bet the Arc would have sounded pretty bad, too, though. When the road is OK, though, the handling is great.
