Excellent insight. Matches the guesses I'd have made based on my Saab experience and reading about the Infinity. Two other observations: (1) The Saab is a handome automobile, but to my mind, most Japanese cars look like they were designed by Japanese videogame designers. The Infinity grill looks like it should be on an electric razor or a toaster; (2)the Saab retains a position of individuality -- lot of BMW wanna-be's piloting G35s around.

Japanese cars have lots of outstanding attributes (we still have at least one Honda), but they are white bread.

The alternative to a Saab, in my mind, is most likely the new Audi A4. I'd likely buy that or another Mercedes if I went away from Saab. Assuming GM stays on the current path with Saab, I'm looking forward to a really superb automobile in the near future -- with a 9-5 that's fully competitive with BMW 5-series.

I've owned Audi, BMW, Mercedes, plus Saab, spread over 30 years and both sides of the Atlantic. At present, Saab is my first choice.

My 2006 9-3 Aero is excellent and nearly faultless, but could attain superior status with just a little more development. Are you listening, GM and Saab managers?
