...I actually checked on the way home after picking up the car and immediately called the service advisor that I had been dealing with and asked if the reset had been done. He told me that this wasn't part of an oil change, and is only done when the car goes through a "service". This wasn't the answer I wanted to hear as I can drive into a Mr. Lube and have a $110 oil change done with the same Mobile 0W40 and original SAAB filter and gasket. The dealer essentially charged me $55 MORE for the same service and didn't even reset the indicator. It apparently takes too much time for the technician to do a reset when all they are doing is an oil change (guess there's not enough margin in it).
I found that really "interesting" to put it politely. So I guess they can count on me to refer people I know to them if they would like to get charged more for less.
Regards,
Theo
