Maybe the car in fact was due for a main and intermediate service but you opted for an oil change only. That would be good reason for them to not reset the service reminder.
Believe it or not, it is actually people out there that think resetting the service reminder will automatically mean the car has received a full main service. So the next time the car comes in and you ask them about if they have had a major service or not and they say, oh yeah, I had it done last time. I go back and check my records and see that we only did an oil change.
Anyway, it is easy enough for you to reset the reminder yourself when the message is on. Just go to the system setting and service and down to reset and then high lite and push yes.
No need to drive to the future and back. lol.
