02 9-5 aero would be my choice. Gas mileage would be about the same despite horsepower difference. I had an 02 aero for 1.5 years and loved every minute (5spd as well). Mileage on the aero is excellent - I am a fairly agressive driver and got 27-28 MPG on a regular basis (mostly highway). The 9-5 has plenty of gadgets and the HK unit is excellent - best stock stereo system I have had.
Only thing to keep in mind on the aero is the 30K service will run you $600 and that is only 3K miles away. If its at a Saab dealer have them throw in the service as part of the deal.
