A lot of people give me flack for buying a saab. I'm actually on my second one, and while my old had its problems, I sold it with 220k miles on it, and still going as far as I know! The 9-3 I have now has been perfect, until my check engine light came on, so i'm getting the part I need, and plan on continuing worry free for another 85k miles!
These cars are very safe (like a volvo) but are also a blast to drive. They are quick, comfortable, and with the hatchback, you can use it like a truck.
They have their issues, as all cars do, but I would say for the most part that these cars are indeed quite reliable.
