Notice the reappearance of some hatch variants like the Mazda 6 hatchback, the Dodge Magnum hatchlike back door. As gas prices rise, clever car based utility vehicles will make hatches popular again. Bob Lutz called Saabs "weird" cars in a recent MT article and Saab will become like Pontiac or Buick. At least Ford has helped Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover make some of the best vehicles they have ever made, D-C is serious about making some interesting and good cars, 300M, Magnum, and here is GM dragging the Saab marque downward, more bland and less interesting...Saab needed the cash, sure, but sold their souls in the process.
