I don't like the idea of carrying over 20 percent of the old oil every change. May be sort of like making sour dough bread or yogurt where it seeds the start of a new batch of sludge ;). I know I am of the old school (I am pretty old for that matter) but I will stick to 3 to 4 thousand mile oil changes with a good high detergent Dino oil. I have used nothing but Wolf's Head 10W30 in all our Saabs for the last twenty years and never had any problems with the engines or turbos. I see little advantage in using synthetic oil if you do frequent oil changes.
