Well, here's the outcome: Went out and saw the Black 2001 Aero. 27.7K, Maryland car, 2 years more (less 2 weeks) CPO warranty. No dents, no dings, no wear on interior. Minor scratches on lower front air dam - normal for Aero's, I'm afraid (every one I've ever looked at up-close had some of this.) Black paint in immaculate condition, overall.

Asking price: $20.99K Not willing to do much on other stuff I wanted: bridge spoiler, roof racks, Saab mud flaps.

Bought car for $20.46K, incl. the mud flaps. Why did I buy it? Well, aside from a fairly mundane and short Iris report, this Aero also had 4 brand new BBS 2-pc. wheels (replaced original under warranty, corrosion issue) and 4 brand new (less than 600 miles on 'em) Dunlop SP tires. A lot of value there.

Sales mgr. showed me the car's listings 2 months ago: $22.9K This was from a relatively new Saab dealer (1-1/2 year old Saab franchise added to a Caddy dealership) - said he bought a bunch of cars at the Mannheim auction, CPO'd them, and in retrospective had probably paid too much just to get some additional Saab stock on the lot.

So, I'm a happy camper. Anyone want to buy an '88 9000T with 193K?
