I was thinking of a chip like that but the fact is you just can't get much more than 250 to the ground in FWD. Physics problem. Also, interesting note, both the manual and auto are torque-limited in 1st and 2nd. Raising this limit a bit is how any 0-60 gain would be noticed.
A few FWD cars have higher ratings, notably Japanese V6s, but they also don't make that power until way high up in the rev band where it's immaterial to takeoff.
From what I've heard of stage 1 kits for the 4-speed Aero, you don't pick up much on takeoff but the car is rendered totally ludicrous on the highway. Saabs usually dominate on overtaking speed, it's just that much faster.
