I have to guess that to set up a wheel on a machinle that and make the machine not only cut it down, but to then polish out the wheel prior to the actual refinishing process, the total const might approach that of a new wheel. Might be a nice alternative to fix one bad wheel in a set where the new one is no longer available, but as a regular means of fixing, makes me a bit skeptical.
