No reason for people to get excited about a failing CPS:
- It usually does not leave you stranded, it gives you advance warning
- They fail on most any autos, and it also is a component that can be adversely impacted by high temps. But unlike the Saab DI, I'd be surprised that the failure rate for the CPS much exceeds that of the industry norm.
It's not about the cost of the DI for me, it is about the choice to use a technology that all other production auto makers avoid due to known reliability issues. Hence a different type of DI in the new 9-3SS.
