You might be looking at a DI cassette failure not to far in the future...
I say this w/o intention to dispute other members' opinions but my '99 9-5 was diplaying same pattern as you describe before the DI unit failed totally. It took about 6 months and more than 10k kms, though.
At the very beginnning, there was just a occasional, prolonged cranking, later on it occured more often (but not always) and one day, I could not restart my car. Of course I was 200 km away from my home so the I know how expensive can a flatbed transport be :).
