I bought a 2000 9-5 Aero, 5 speed, with 84,000 miles in March 2004. I've had to replace the usual 9-5 suspects -- DIC, SID, rear shocks, and thermostat. Other than that, the car has been rock solid. It's still very tight and feels almost new.
There are no guarantees. Even Toyota has experienced serious oil sludge issues (worse than Saab, IIRC). 9-5's are pretty reliable -- in general. That doesn't mean every individual car will be the same.
