If I read correctly, you removed the turbo inlet pipe and the hose connecting this pipe to the MAF sensor.
I had to tighten my auto tranny cooler line connections last year at about this time. Once I got the fan shroud out of the car I was surprised at how much room I had to work. Maybe I should have duplicated that effort yesterday to get at the lower radiator hose.
My upper hose was in great shape, and Nick Taliaferro had mentioned in the past that Saab hoses are fantastic, (I had asked about the Speedparts silicone hoses as replacements). But after 6 years and 154,000 miles I don't want the unpleasant surprise of a rotting hose while on a trip.
Thanks for your feedback and experience. I'll have to look for those pliers too.
