The answer is simple, front drive vs. 4wd. When you accelerate, there is a weight transfer from the front to the rear due to the torque on the driven wheels (front or rear drive, doesn't matter, the result is the same). This decrease the load on the front tires and increases the load on the rear tires. Enough power and you reach the point were there isn't enough load on the front tires to prevent wheel spin. To prevent this, the Aero actually keeps torque at a lower level in first gear (the Viggen lowers it in first and second).
Once you get to a high enough power level for weight transfer to limit acceleration, any rear or 4wd car will beat an equal power front driver off the line. As to the quarter mile time, the Aero just can't catch up. With a rolling start at 40 mph or so, the Aero can take an S4 any day of the week due to the extra weight and friction from the 4 wheel drive. For the same reason, you will also get 3 or 4 mpg better mileage with an Aero than an S4.
