My wife and I celebrated our 50th anniversary by picking up our 9-5 at the factory and leisurely exploring Norway and Sweden. It was a special kind of experience and I recommend it highly. I agree with MI-Roger's concerns. You are not in a position to negiotiate price much with the Eur. Del. and you probably could get as good or better price just buying the car in the US. Another irritating drawback: Since the excise tax is levied on the price of the car paid to the dealer, despite my best efforts I had to pay tax on the $2000 cash back from SAAB--not a small item in Indiana. SAAB really went all out for us with all the perks and extras--and we really enjoyed it all. My wife even loved the factory tour! However, SAAB had problems with some of the details with our transaction--e.g. they scheduled delivery of our car on a national holiday when everything was closed! To their credit, they tried to keep our travel plans intact by shipping the car to Oslo for free. But I would advise double (maybe triple!) checking all the details before leaving the US. But,as a vacation/celebration--it was hard to beat! ls
