Do you have an auto? Posted by Johnson [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: I'd like to change out tranny fluid, but where?, Eric, Sun, 18 Jun 2006 11:20:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
if you do, if you get under the car like you would do an oil change and to the left (laying on your back head towards the rear) you will see the tranny. comming out the side of this is a bolt, they head of which is large in size but thin, I think it is a 19mm? I always use my really big monkey wrench to get it off. you will want a pan under it and the engine to be coolish, because it is very hot if you have just driven. (sorry I just had to say that, went to help a friend change their oil, and he used his car to go buy the oil and decided to get started on it right away and burned himself with the hot oil coming out...) anyways it takes about 3 1/2 quarts I think and it obviously does not get it all out as before mentioned, so you will want to get enough to do it at least twice. I also just filled it where the dipstick is, don't know if that is the right place at all. just use a funel. where are you at?
