How do you know if tech actually changed the oil?????

Went for service 8 days ago at Beacon motors Toronto for the first time. 2 days later i notice oil dripping. I jack up the 9-5 oil nut not even finger tight. I tighten. Check oil level it is actually high despite 2 days of leak. Called service guy to complain and ask if high oil level is an issue. He says no. I ask on saabnet and saabnet says it is an issue. I drain oil today 1300 cc. Oil level stil reads high! Oil also is very dark and opaque. He says he used castrol fully synthetic. Gasket looks new and filter looks new so it seems he at least drained the old oil. After this incompetent/?unscrupoulous oil change I'm wondering if they actually put in new oil. I have a few bottles of new synthetic oil that my cousin gave me I see that they are clear and transparent like olive oil. Are some new synthetics dark or does it turn dark even in 8 days of light commute to work driving?
Thanks
