I come from a background of driving Subaru's and Toyota's. They are ok cars. I got 9.5 wagon last year (used 1999 4cyl w/58k, now 74k) for a wicked price but it's been a royal pain but I got a warranty so it's been reasonable to deal with and now it's running great (jinx?). So I started looking at these older Saabs and along the way 4 months ago bought a 1991 Saab 900 Turbo for $1,000. What a great car! Intelligent Utilitarianism I call it. When other people compare Saabs to Porsche's and BMW's it makes me want to puke. Those cars are for urban people. I live in Colorado and travel through the mountains all the time for work. Saab is the best. I think these old 900's might be better than the newer 9.5's. But I am sold on Saab, that is my point. Not only are they cool cars, they are affordable if you do not buy them new. Buying them new is the same as suicide looking at the depreciation values. I do not make tons of money so price is very important to me. Saab is affordable after 3 years of the original year. Subaru is a rip-off compaed to Saab in the used market.
