Does Saab really care?

As the second owner of a 1999 SE with 97K, im well aware that any sort of warranty went away on that car some time ago. I suspect the front DI cassette is on its way out,(RPM flux during hard acceleration). There is a recall for the Cassettes in the later model years 2001 for the V6. Same part as what they were using in the 99! I went to a Saab dealer to see if they could at least discount the price, or offer some assistance. They snickered and told me that it was a lost cause, they have a hard time getting Saab to authorize repair on cars that are 100miles out of warranty. So I called Saab and got some very cross sounding woman named Tanisha, who flat out told me "Sorry your car is out of warranty, and that recall has nothing to do with your car. And there isn't anything we can or will do". Has anyone had any luck with Dealing Saab on this issue?
