no way!! do not trust the built-in lock in the seatbelt

clip. I tried that initially but it does not hold tight. you cannot get the seatbel super tight on install (read the child seat manual)
use the double-U shaped metal belt locks supplied by the childseat company! they are the only way to make sure the seatbelt doesnt come loose. it's a lot more work but not as much pain as a dead baby from bouncing around in an accident! (sorry for the drama).
if you dont like the work involved, get a seatbelt ratchet from BabiesR Us ($15) Mighty-Mite Seat Belt Tightener. best $15 I ever spent in my life. still use the lock with the childseat company supplied. this allows you to install loose at first then ratchet it tight. it's made well. I have used them for years.
