I dropped my car off for service thsi morning and had a breif talk woth the head SAAB technician. He is telling me to swith to regular gas instead of Premium. His arguement is that premimum gas sits in underground tanks too long since very few poeple buy it and as a result there are "problmes" wit the fuel. I find this difficult to believe. Are you in a densely populated urban area where the turnover of gas would be high? I asked him to look at the coolant temp sensor. based on your experince, but he was very skeptical and I am wondering if he will do it at all? My 06 9-5 has only 15K km's on it and thsi problem has been around since about the 6K mark!! Unforturnatelt here in Newfoundland we do not have Sunoco or shell gas. I currently us ESSO supreme. I wll post the outcome of my experience with the service tomorrow. By the way, I am also an engineer, I work in research designing and building instrumentation and test models. I suspect that auto techs are not to fond of us engineers, we want sound technical answers to our questions!!!
