First tip is to follow the instructions which either accompany the kit or can be downloaded from sites such as http://www.genuinesab.com.
To remove the oil trap you will need to remove the brace supporting the intake manifold, but I have not had to disconnect the alternator wiring. After the bolts for the oil trap are removed, lift the trap vertically, then flip it rearwards over the top of a horizontal member which is in your way (the steering rack maybe?), then it just drops to the ground. Install the new one in reverse method.
All hoses just slip onto their barbed fittings, although some are tighter fits than others. The toughest part is wrapping the insulating foam sheet around the new PCV hose and the coolant lines to/from the throttle body. there is just not quite enough room to do this easily. The sheet of foam is intended to encase and hold the coolant lines tight to the new check valve to prevent it from freezing in bitter cold weather.
My 90 minute estimate might be too generous, it may have only taken me 45 minutes to do this job from start to finish.
