I've often thought the same thing. Adding an inch here, taking an inch there, adjusting the rake of the A-pillar or the shape of the headlights on the whim of a designer doesn't necessarally make a car better, just different, so the ad flacks can talk about "the all new whatever for 08".
In terms of styling, one of the things I like about my Saabs is the fact that the design doesn't change radically from year to year. Remember, this year's new design is last year's old design. I'd rather have a vehicle that always seems to look current, as do Saabs.
With automotive design we're getting to the point of deminishing returns. I'm not negating true advancements or improvements. I just don't believe in change for the sake of change.
