thank you all for the postings. i did take the car to the garage when the flikering was going on. but i took it in for another reason. they did tell me that i was low on oil and they changed it. but the flikering was still there. while this was going on after the oil change i stopped and had the oil checked and the level was fine. i called roadside assistance for an opinion and they said that if the oil level is fine it could be an electric mass in the dash; that was to me an expert opinion and i chose to believe it because it is easier. now when the engine fried the garage people said that the flikering is almost always a burnt engine. well too late for the advice, they should have said so when i went for that part or when i called roadside. but hey people die because of wrong diagnosis so what's a car engine: $4000, enough to give someone a heart attack. thanks again guys.
