But take complaints with a fair amount of skepticism. I've had 3 9-5s over the last 5 years and still own the first one I bought. In 5 years and 90,000 miles, it's cost me less than $2,500 in repairs. So far I've replaced a DIC ($200), oil lines ($600), fuel pump ($150), HVAC Blower ($60), and Turbo ($600), Alarm battery ($50), suspension bushings($450). I may be missing something, but generally everything else I've done falls in the category of normal maintenance or wear and tear such as shock absorbers, tires, brakes replacements,
I suspect I'd have paid much much more if I relied soley on my dealer.
Something eles to consider: Most cars are looking pretty tired by the time they have 100K miles on them. 9-5s continue to look and perform as new well past 200k miles. So where many owners would ignore loose trim or rattling windows in a car they expect to junk in another 20K miles, Saab owners find themselves repairing or replacing some rather expensive parts.
At this point, I'm more apt to buy salvage parts that may have 100K miles life left in them for my car that may only have 75K miles more useful life.
