I sort of knew all that. Aware that I am pushing the envelope, I drive (when towing) with one eye on the instruments. When the revs increase without a corresponding speed increase (slipping clutch) I reduce throttle to bring it back into lockup. (obviously this is during cruise mode. When pulling onto the expressway or driving in traffic, I just do what I need to get by). What I've noticed is that the behavior is different from one leg to the next. But I'm beginning to think it's the boost gauge measuring relative pressure, while the engine is responding to absolute pressure. This means that at higher altitude, 4 psi boost might give the same torque load as 1 psi boost at lower altitude.
I will try to correlate the behavior to altitude during the fall migration.
