Rather than me or anyone else recounting the endless discussion on this board concerning oils, do a couple searches for "synthetic" or "Mobil 1" or any other related phrase and read what you get. It's an education. But most important, note that among all the usually intelligent, thoughtful, informed posts in the last couple years, you will never, ever see anyone advocating NOT using full synthetic motor oil in a 9-5 unless you're planning to sell it next Thursday. We may discuss brand, weight, mileage, or price until the wheels fall off, but no one seriously advocates not using it. Gas mileage will improve, but not much.
