Siren going off=TWICE unit?

Siren failed about a year ago. It was replaced, and failed intermittently until it was recently replaced again. After a few weeks the new one is going off again. It seems to be triggered by intense heat.
My dealer is telling me based upon a friend of the service adviser that it is the TWICE unit which is confused and thinks the alarm should go off. Of course the dealer wants me to pay now that it is out of warranty.
Any suggestions for my indy? Could something have gotten messed up during the first/second siren module swap? It seems straightforward enough. I think the dealer has no clue and is trying to get rid of me. I may stop by for a code read. Will the alarm log any codes when it goes off?
