The 99 is a little bit different if it has the external electric vacuum pump but still, great care should be taken around that brake booster pipe.
When they are old and brittle, they are really brittle and a slight push sideways will break it.
One way to ease the risks are to unplug it from the intake manifold.
That way it have a little bit of flex.
I don't think you can apply enough pressure to break the fluid reservoir, those are really tough. And if you felt that being a risk, you definitely applied enough force in that area to easily crack the brake booster pipe if it had been in the way.
