or x4, if you count my first SAAB, a 2002 Aero SW. Since I bought that in May 2002, I haven't bought anything but SAAB's since. [slight disclaimer, when my wife totaled her Millenia about 6 years ago, she replaced with another. She now drives a 9-3 Aero].
When my daughter turned 16, we got her a 9-5 (which she totaled last January, she now drives the 9-5 Arc).
My son gets his operator's license first of February, looking at SAAB's, found one Saturday.
Adding a 2005 9-5 Aero to the driveway. A little more car than I had in mind, but with 139k miles, even with all available options and excellent condition inside and out (other than few stone chips on hood), the price was right.
It does have yellowed headlight lenses, which he'll have to buff out. Did SAAB do come cost-cutting in 2005? My daughter's Arc has some yellowing, but not nearly as bad. My 2002's still looked great after 7.5 years, but it was garaged at home, and I guess at work I typically park facing north, perhaps lessening UV exposure some.
It also has a bent rim, a 2-pc look. It doesn't leak air, and wasn't really noticeable at hwy speeds, but I'll be looking to replace.
I've bought five cars this year, all SAAB's. I had a 1999 SE(6) SW for a few months after a deer took out my 2002 Aero SW before I picked up my SC.
Yes, I have a SAAB problem, and I've converted my family. My daughter was a little upset last year when SAAB's future seemed gone. She's a junior at Creighton, and was hoping that her first car after med school would be a SAAB convertible. If this last one treats my son right, he could drive this thing all the way through college. It looks that good, for now.
