I agree with the tires. I've a 1999 2.3 wagon. I cheaped out when I replaced my tires, going from the original Michelin Energy to Goodrich Traction T/A, purchased at Sam's. I had no issue with these as replacements at that time on 2 other cars, and they had the 93 sidewall rating that I wanted. But for whatever reason, the money I saved per tire vs the latest version of the Michelin that I could have gotten there (I think the Michelins would have been about $130-135 after rebate, the Goodrich were $99), the Goodrich were was a false economy, as my highway mpg dropped 2-3 mpg, and a smaller drop in the city. that the speed rating was also a letter lower (H) than the originals may also be a factor in this. I had always considered Goodrich Traction as one of the better mileage tires, too.
