Hi Lpatten,
Noticed that you have been taken for a ride. First don't panic . Dont simply believe that blown head gasket story until you performed all these tests.
1) Do a compression test on all the cylinders. You should come up with 180+ with all cylinders. Some auto parts store will loan the unit for you without cost. Remove the Ignition cartridge and crank each cylinder at a time.
2) Is there oil in the coolant reservoir ?
3) Is there a milk shake condition when you look at the oil diptstick ? If so how severe? If it is minor you may skip it for now and concentrate on other symptoms.
4) Is there oil on the feedback from the turbo to the engine intake module. That may be a sign of a defective turbo. You mentioned about the brakes. The hydraulic valves/abs module may be malfunctioning. But that is a separate issue. My best suggestion is tow the car away from the dealership and store it somewhere e.g drive way, etc until you find a good indy that can help you. Unfortunately there are not too many of them around since the Saab after 1996 is a highly sophisticated machine and without a Tech 2 computer is a nightmare to fix let alone the physical engine problems you are facing now. let me know if I can be of more help.
Terry
