Terry,
I'm going to have to take it to an indie to do that, as I'm no longer savvy with cars. But I am super appreciative of your advice.
BTW, there was a compression test done on the coolant system which apparently went well, but there is STILL oil in the coolant reservoir - same as I had before the engine oil cooler was replaced. That's why I am so skeptical. I don't know enough to confirm, but it seems as if I spent $1,200 that I told them I could ill afford (not that they care about me) on a repair only to find out that oil and coolant are still mixing. I can understand oil leaking if the head gasket is leaking (which I can smell both outside and within the cockpit (must be really healthy, too) and the mechanic at the dealer pointed out where the leak is and I could see the coolant, but would that cause coolant and oil to mix?
When the mechanic checked the dipstick, he said it looked good and was at the proper level.
I hope there are no oil issues with the turbo, as the turbo was replaced a year ago for $2K.
I don't have any current problem with the brakes. But the timing belt is probably due for a changeout soon.
No doubt this is difficult. I started looking at other cars. I love this car, but at 195K mi. it has become a money pit and, of course, I worry about future support from Saab. Never mind this dealership. They've shown me who they are.
