So, while Spreen, may be an aggressive dealer, they are, obviously, not "Angels" of car dealers.
I too Just picked up my slightly used Saab 9-5 (premium, auto, metallic, 3000+ miles) at Spreen about a week ago. Love the car, however, I'm disappointed about the deal that I've gotten. You seemed to have gotten a deal that is similar in cost to mine, except that your car is new. I'm quite upset now that the salesman (same salesman you've dealt with) didn't tell me that I could have gotten a new car for an approximately the same cost.
The deal I got was for a floor model with approximately 3000 miles on it. My deal is 36 month/12k a year/ and approximately 1000$ out the door (Registration, and other handling fees, but NO MONEY DOWN TOWARDS THE COST OF THE CAR.) and 390$ a month. The Net Cap cost was approximately 28K, as well. By the way, these costs include all taxes (and fees) and are my actual "out of pocket" numbers.
I had no idea that there was an incentive on 9-5 at this time. I only found out later looking at this forum. :_ ( I'm very sad, indeed. I thought I did enough research by looking at Edmunds and other site for incentives. But, apparently there are deals that doesn't appear there. My lesson is This:
"Ask on this forum about incentives/deals before buying next time"
I do have few questions for you Larry, and they are:
-Where was this incentive advertised ?
-Are these the actual out of pocket numbers or do you still have to add taxes and such ?
-If so, what was the actual dollars out of your pocket for the monthly payment and initial cost (as in "Out the door" cost) ?
In some ways, I don't want to find out how much of a bad deal I've got, but I'm too curious. I'll still enjoy the car, but with a bit of bitterness in my mouth. Saving grace is that I still consider my deal a better deal than, say, getting a BMW. Saab is such a great bang for your buck.
