I know, I know, I shouldn't sweat the cost too much and just enjoy the car...
Assuming that you paid about 1000$ for out the door initial cost as I did (You've neglected to answer this portion of my question, Larry. Was that the case ?), we did get a pretty similar deal. And, as you mention, the fact I have 3000 miles on mine doesn't change much of anything on the practical level.
It's just the mental thing. I would have really enjoyed having a brand new car. I would have liked to get your deal, if I had the choice. So, that is why I am a little miffed that the dealer didn't mention this to me. *Sigh* But I feel a little better, now that I've vented....
BTW, a little report on my 9-5. I've just taken it to the Wine country in the hundson valley. 9-5 is great tourer. For a 2.3 litre engine (albeit turbo) it's got great torque. It has a great passing ability from 40-60 mph range. It also doesn't struggle up the hill going 70mph like my honda accord, which BTW has a 2.3 engine as well. All that and 30+ mpg for the whole trip. Top that BMW !
Suspention I've found is also great for touring. Very plush ride. It is ,however, little too soft for my taste around town and winding roads. It may just be matter of getting used to it. As soft as I thought it was, it handled fine.
The two minuses I've found are very minor. The first of which is a slight buzzing in an aft dome light fixature. (Sounds like there is a large fly trapped in there) Second is a vibration from the A/C compressor. The buzzing from the light only eminates during 40-60 mph range, while vibration from the A/C can only be felt at a dead stop. Apparently, for build quality, Honda this car ain't. But, hey, I wouldn't want it to be.
All in all, I'm still very impressed with the saab 9-5. I'm dying to put in a ECU ! But alas, it's a leased car. : ( (I know, I know, Don't worry about small things, just enojoy the car.....)
thanks to every one for your comments !
