Cat -- Calm down. You did fine. In fact, your deal is as good as mine since we are paying roughly the same amount and we both put $0 down. My actual payment is $402 w/ NY 9% tax vs your $390. w/ NJ 6% tax (I assume.) The Net Cap costs are also on par because you got a Auto Tranny vs Manual for me ($1044 invoice option) BUT you got 3000 mi vs 10mi on mine.
the incentive is not advertised. This is "dealer cash" and they can use as they please. Good dealers will give it to the customer and make deals, like Spreen. You DEFINITELY got the full incentive ($6000 on lease) on your car at $28K Cap Cost.
I can understand your dismay at not being given the option of a new car vs a loaner. BTW, at 3K miles your car was either a Demo, or driven by one of the Salesman. (probably not a service loaner). Still, the 3K miles will not affect you one iota, unless your warranty was not extended by 3K mi. Just say to yourself how nice it was that the dealership gave you a complinentary new car break-in !
finally, I also could have done better on my deal. I left a lot of dealer holdback on the table. But I wanted a Steel Gray 5sp with Beige Leather and there was ONE (1) such car in the ENTIRE USA! Rick got it for me when the dealer in MA didn't want to let it go since it was one-of-a-kind left for '02 and would sell it a high profit! Normally, I am really sick about acheiving the absolute sickest, bottom price that I will piss-off at least two or three dealers each car leasing cycle. I pissed-off only one this time (Bayside Saab in Queens), so i know that I didn't get the "ne plus ultra" deal. But I think Rick and Spreens earned their money.
