Some vibration through the shifter and a slight rubbery feel are normal for a 9-5. Good, strong gearboxes though, good clutches, but not the best shift linkage. I understand that's no the case with the new 9-3. Preliminary reports say a great shifter.
Do try the automatic. 5-speed auto with Sentronic shift paddles on wheel and sport setting in drive combined with high torque of turbo makes rowing your own less and less desirable.
