Cadilac CTS......give me my 9-5

I had an overnight business trip this week on the same day as the first serious winter snow in the Great Lakes area. My choices of company pool vehicles was slim, so I opted for a CTS which is dimensionally identical to the 9-5 (almost). Unfortunately it is rear wheel drive with fat performance rubber which made it very squirrely on my 300 mile drive on icy roads.
This car is not in the same league as our 9-5's. The dash is tacky looking plastic with the center pod growing out of the main dash, highlightd by a bad joining seam. The available information from the onboard display is limited, and can not even be selected while the car in in gear!!! The damn power seat reverts to a discharge position when ever the car is turned off and key removed. This position is full back, full lowered, with seat back half reclined. I had to place one hand on the door jamb (after kicking the door open with my foot) and my other on the wheel to hoist/extract myself from the car. If anyone had been seated behind me their legs would have been crushed by the seat powering itself so far rearward. All atempts to program either of the two driver preference buttons for the seat failed. Although the use of these buttons is the only way to get outside temp displayed in the information center! Mind you, the information center is surrounded by buttons which apparently perform no useful function what so ever.
I'll take my 9-5 any day.
