Just drive it with a manual

The CTS is a different kind of car. The plastic is actually soft rubbery material which looks cheaper than it is or feels. Drive it with a manual transmission (on dry roads) and you'll see how fun it is and how great it handles. Its styling is a matter of personal taste, but the CTS's are selling well without rebates.
The thing about a sheet of ice getting caught on the front of the slab-sided front end just happened to me on my '97 900 during my trip back from Chicago on Monday. I'm not sure how difficult it is to reprogram the seat exit function but a lot of people, (probably big people) like it. And as far as the extraneous buttons, they are soft-keys that are only used in certain modes. The lock-out of certain features while driving is to reduce driver distraction.
