I bought the car last month, and was alarmed at how dirty the oil looked so I had an instant oil change dealer change the oil right away. Even with the new oil, it still looked pretty brown after only a few minutes use.
So, one month and 3000 miles later, I changed it again last night. This time I ran some Gunk engine cleaner through it at idle for 5 minutes per the instructions. Then I drained it, and the oil filter. Replaced the old oil filter. Added 4 qts of 20W50 I've had kicking around the garage I have no particular use for. Then I ran the car 10 minutes at idle, drained the oil, chanted the filter, and added Saab 0W30 Turbo oil.
For the first time, I can pull the dip stick, and see clean oil.
It also seems there's an insert in the bottom of the case that the oil drain plug screws in to. So, I tightened the plug to around 25 ft. lbs. Should be fine.
Noticed a little seepage around the Trans oil drain plug while I was down there, it's torque spec is 6 ft lbs. I retightened it for good measure, but am wondering if some type of gasket or sealing washer is supposed to be on the plug.
