The car ahd 57K miles when I bought it. It has 60k on it now. My original concern was that the previous owner didn't perform regular oil changes. If there's a lot of carbon deposits in the crankcase, and heads, it will lead ot scarring of the the cylinder walls, and premature wear of other parts. If dirty looking oil is a charactoristic of Saab engines, then I have to think they need to rethink some of their engineering.
There was a marked difference in the color of the last oil I put in after running the Gunk through it, and then flushing with the 20w50. A lot of guys will drain a quart off and add transmission fluid. After a couple hundred miles, the detergents in the trans fluid do a pretty good job dissolving the internal deposits.
