well, I did the same thing...sort of. my previous car was a '96 900 set, which uses the same bolt pattern as the 9-5, but uses similar sized tires as the classic 900's...so, I had 185/65/15's, and they do great in the snow...great. yup, skinny tires are best in the snow...if you do a lot of highway miles, especially without snow, I don't think this is the preferred route....but I have a 6 mile drive to work, and my wife's car is a bmw z-3, which doesn't go anywhere in the snow (except, sideways)...so, we needed an around-town, go thru anything car, and the 9-5 with these skinny tires is better than most 4x4's out there.
