VW are not very good cars.

Not the Jetta/Golf anyway. The Passat is a little better, but not even close to a 9-5. I recently made a complete swich from all VW/Audi products to Saab only. Replaced a VW Gti VR6 and an Audi A4 1.8t, and I'll never look back. Someone above said that the monsoon stereo is good, hah! It is horrible, there is no power, the bass reflex is sadly under expectations, and even after numerous antenna replacements I never got very good reception. While I will admit that the Saab stereo could be better, you only need replaced a couple of speakers and it sounds awesome! As far as power, I spent thousands of dollars on modifying the VW and it sadly was beat in a race by my fiance's 9-3SE (which is bone stock). Saabs are a premium brand and VW are well, a not so cheap sub premium alternative. The only point I can really concede is that I will miss the interiors of the VW/Audi. They are truly the nicest interiors available for the money. In closing. Just beware that after 30,000 miles the VW will go to crap, and it certainly won't compare to a 30,000 mile Saab.
