Hey, Anders, I hope you are not charging anyone for diagnostic work, because to borrow the phrase from Catherine's dealer "it must be the DI cassette" - not could be or should be. Easy car to diagnose.

When my DI fried, I removed it and strolled into the service mgr's office at the dealership, plunked it on the desk, and I think I remember him saying "must be the DI cassette" , without a trace of uncertainty. Oh, it did smell very corrupt as well.

Catherine, should you read this IMO something may not be exactly correct with the dealers work. You may want to name the dealership, as many Saab owners visit this BB, and they might want to render opinion on this particular dealer's service dept., based upon their experiences. As others have suggested, does not seem to fit the signs of a faulty DI.
