Adding those parts together ends up to about $800.00 US
Very rarely though do you need all those 4 major pieces when the C/V joint breaks.
And I have yet to see a C/V joint break here in LA,CA, mostly due to that we have very few gravel roads here.
In Sweden it was quiet common that they broke due to that after the C/V boot failed, dust and dirt entered the C/V joint and the grease was thrown out, wearing down the ballbearings in no time.
But even in those cases, you only needed to install a new outer C/V joint and boot onto the shaft and it was good to go.
Saab came out with a new outer C/V joint with VIN X3082600. Does your car fall below that VIN number? I don't know what was changed on the new joint though.
I would very much want to see how it broke.
