Brooks G - you said "Mobil 1 0W-40 is rated A3-B3 and the rest of the Mobil 1s are rated A1-B1. The A3-B3 oil meets higher standards.". Please clarify and cite the Saab reference for A3-B3 spec oil being required, versus it being just an opinion of yours. No ill will, but 20 years of car knowledge tells me that: 1) The climate you operate the car in is directly related to the weight of the oil recommended. And 2) - The oil changes that Saab dealers conduct use a semi-synthetic blend, and it probably does not come close to the standard of protection that Mobil-1 5W-30 provides, and is most certainly not "A3-B3" spec. Good topic to bounce around, please reply.
